Joseph Conley Carder

Mr. Joseph Conley Carder, 90, of Gainesville passed away Saturday, November 27, 2021 at Foot Hills Retirement Home.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with Rev. Lance Fuller and Speaker Jason Whisnant officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Monday, November 29, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Born on February 21, 1931 in Union County, he was the son of the late James “Jim” and Eleanor Bridges Carder. He was retired from New Holland Mill and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Dahlonega.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Carder is preceded in death by his wife, Gearldine Ward Carder; brother, James Carder Jr.; and sister, Imogene Shelnut.

Mr. Carder is survived by his sisters, Janie Kemp of Gainesville, Kathleen Acrey (Richard) of Gainesville; brother, Luke Carder (Martha) of Dahlonega; daughter, Pam Welch (Bobby) of Gainesville; grandson, Michael Welch (Casey) of Clermont; granddaughter, Jennifer Whisnant (Jason) of Clermont; great-grandchildren, Austin Welch of Flowery Branch, Kelsey Welch of Flowery Branch, Brittany Martin of Flowery Branch, CJ Whisnant of Clermont, Abby Whisnant of Clermont, Landen Welch of Clermont and a number of great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other loving relatives.
