Sue Walden

Mrs. Sue Walden, age 86, of Dahlonega, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, November 17, 2021. She was born on July 14, 1935, in Union County to the late Clyde Hemphill and the late Ruth Plott Hemphill. Sue will always be remembered as a great, hard-working woman who spent her life being a cosmetologist and a seamstress. At home she was constantly working in her yard keeping things in tip-top shape. She was of the Baptist faith and was a faithful member of Antioch Baptist Church in Dahlonega.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband, Jeff Walden, Sr.; son, Michael Walden; and siblings, Elwood Hemphill, Johnny Height, and Benny Hemphill.

Sue is survived by her son, Jeff Walden, Jr. of Dahlonega; siblings, James (Maxine) Hemphill of Blairsville, Bobby Ogden of Athens, AL, and Bill (Wanda) Cantrell of Blairsville; grandchildren, Jonathan Walden, Jacob Walden, and Austin Walden. She is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends, and other relatives. 

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 20, 2021, at 2:00 PM at Antioch Baptist Church with Pastor Bobby Whitmire and Rev. Clifford Allen officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 12:00 PM until the service hour at the church. 

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the cemetery committee of Antioch Baptist Church at 291 Fred Burns Road, Dahlonega, Georgia 30533.
