Winton Martin

Winton Martin, age 77, of Flowery Branch, GA passed away on Tuesday, November 16, 2021.  He was preceded in death by parents, J. L. and Betty Westbrooks Martin and brother, Larry Martin. Mr. Martin is survived by his wife of fifty-four years, Carol Brogdon Martin of Flowery Branch; sisters, Joyce Westbrooks (Curtis), Janice Gilliland (Ricky); Crystal Queen all of Buford, GA; brothers, Stanley Martin (Sarah) and Joe Martin (Shan) all of Buford, GA; sister-in-law, Patsy Martin of Buford, GA; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mack and Sheila Brogdon of Dacula, GA; his beloved pet, Mollee Mawee; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Martin was born on January 26, 1944 in Buford, GA. He was a 1962 graduate of Buford High School where he played football. Mr. Martin was a retired carpenter from Donald Beard Construction Company. He was a member and oldest Deacon of  Old Suwanee Baptist Church, where he served on the Deacon Board for over fifty years. He also was a story teller for the Children’s Ministry at the church. Mr. Martin enjoyed doing yard work and spending time with his family. He would often take his dog Mollee for a ride in his truck. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Campbell officiating. Interment will follow at Old Suwanee Baptist Church Cemetery in Buford, GA with Pastor Doyle Jackson officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, November 19th from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
