Joan Ann "Thomas" Green

Joan Ann (Thomas) Green, 85, of Buford, GA passed away Friday, November 12, 2021. She was born January 13, 1936 to the late Charlie B. and Ann Thomas, and was also preceded in death by her husband, Henry Green; sister, Elizabeth (Thomas) Welchel; brother-in-law, Claude Welchel; nephews, David Cantrell and Melvin Thomas; and niece, Deborah Welchel. Joan attended and graduated from The Buford Colored School, and was employed with Gwinnett Hospital System and Walmart for many years. She leaves to cherish her memories, brother, Charlie and Linda Thomas; nephews, Mickey, Ritchie, and Victor Thomas, Morris Sherman, Allison and Lonnie Bailey, Michael and Pinky Cantrell, Tommy and Pam Welchel, and Tammy and Major Eaddy, along with a host of great and great great nieces and nephews. Joan will be missed dearly by a large host of family and friends. A Graveside Service is scheduled for 2:00 PM, Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at Union Baptist Church Cemetery in Buford, GA. Pastor Gwen Bennett will officiate.
