Roger Dale Craven

Our beloved father and papa, Roger Dale Craven, passed away on November 7th, 2021 in Gainesville, GA.   He is preceded in death by his parents, Banks and Marie Davis Craven and brother-in-law, Jerry Vickers.   Selfless and generous, he lived his 65 years serving God by loving others. He was a dedicated employee of Progress Container and Display for 48 years and was considered an exceptional employee and always had a smile.  He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Dolores Everett Craven of Buford, GA; daughter, Amanda Fontenot (Joe) of Flowery Branch, GA; son, Andrew Craven (Ellen) of Flowery Branch, GA; five grandchildren, Bryce Fontenot, Madelyn Fontenot, Daniel Craven, Caroline Craven and Maggie Craven; brothers, Robert Craven (Bonnie) of Dacula, GA and Don Craven of Buford, GA; sister Lynn Vickers of Lawrenceville, GA; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bernice and Evelyn Everett of Buford, GA; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; several nieces, nephews and cousins.  His family will remember his affinity for Elvis, Andy Griffith, wrestling, watching westerns and antique cars and trucks. His love for tinkering made him incredibly adept at fixing everything, and he was happy to lend a hand to anyone who asked. His proudest accomplishment was his beloved family for whom he would have moved mountains.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at Duncan Creek Congregational Church, Buford, GA, with Reverend James Dee Dillin officiating.  Interment will be at Duncan Creek Congregational Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 9, 2021, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
