Vanessa Satterfield

Vanessa Satterfield, 58, of Dahlonega, Georgia passed away, November 5, 2021 with her family by her side. Vanessa was widely loved staff member at Long Branch Elementary School for 30 years. She had a passion for enriching everyone's life and impacted everyone that crossed paths with her. Between Vanessa's quirky sense of humor and favorite sayings "Just Peachy" she also had a servant's soul. Her first priority was always bringing joy and aid to anyone she could even before herself. Vanessa was an artist, a teacher, role model, and will always be known as "Mama Bear" to more than just her own children.

Vanessa was preceded in death by her parents Lewis Melvin Dempsey and Opal Sue (Holtzclaw) Dempsey of Dahlonega, Georgia.

Vanessa was survived by her husband of 39 years Gene Satterfield of Dahlonega, Georgia. Her children, Heather Bafile (son in law Ridge Bafile), Stephanie Satterfield, and Dustin Satterfield all of Dahlonega, Georgia; and the by lights of her life; her two grandchildren Delilah and Walker Satterfield. 

Vanessa was confident, reliable, and supportive. She was also a patient wife, mother, and grandmother.  Her shoes will never be filled. 

Family will receive friends on Sunday November 7th, 2021 from 3pm until 9pm and again on Monday November 8th, 2021 from 10am until 4pm with a funeral service in the chapel of Dahlonega Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Yellow Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
