Harold Turner

Robert Harold Turner, age 89, of Cleveland, passed away on Thursday, November 4, 2021.

Mr. Turner was born on July 4, 1932, in Cleveland, Georgia, to the late Ollie W. Turner and Mary Thurmond Turner.  Harold was part owner of Turner-Mize Lumber Company and later Mt. Yonah Lumber Company, where he worked most of his life.  Harold was a member of Mt. Yonah Baptist Church, where he served as Deacon Emeritus, and was also a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving in the Korean War.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Clyde Turner, Sr., Ray Turner, Bill Turner, and Jack Turner; sisters, Ruby Blalock, Willie Mae Blalock, and Olline Turner.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Doris Turner; daughter, Sherri Turner; grandsons, Will (Tara) Loudermilk, Coley Loudermilk, and Clancy Loudermilk; great-granddaughters, Emma Loudermilk, Hadley Loudermilk, and Adelaide Loudermilk; sister, Jessie Lou (Orem) Chambers; brother-in-law, Johnny Westmoreland; son-in-law, Bill Loudermilk (Julie Roche); surrogate daughter, Sara Fain; several nieces, nephews, and extended family also survive.

A Celebration of Life is scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Monday, November 8, 2021, at Mt. Yonah Baptist Church.  The Rev. Doug Merck, the Rev. Marc Turner, and Miss Hadley Loudermilk will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 P.M. Monday at Mt. Yonah Baptist Church, prior to the service.
