Dewey “Arnau” Bedingfield, Jr., age 89, of Cumming, GA, passed away on November 2, 2021.
Dewey Arnau is preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Martha Radford Bedingfield. He is survived by his son, Gregory Arnau Bedingfield and daughter, Laura Bedingfield Myers, and grandchildren Megan Bedingfield Turner, Sarah Martha Myers and Jacob Paul Myers along with several nieces and nephews.
He attended the University of Georgia and remained a lifelong supporter of the Dawgs. He graduated from the UGA Pharmacy School and began his career as a pharmacist in his hometown of Dublin, GA. There he purposely offered to deliver a prescription to the local school just to meet the new teacher, Martha Radford – who became his wife for over 63 years. After serving in the Army and opening the Bedingfield Pharmacy in Augusta, they eventually moved to Atlanta and raised a family. The last 24 years were spent living in Cumming to be near the grandchildren.
Dewey Arnau loved playing the piano for any and all around him. He loved walking not as much for the outdoor exercise as for the chance to talk with those neighbors and friends that he happened to see on those walks.
For those that knew him best, it will be his love and zany sense of humor that will be missed the most.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, 12:00 pm on November 13, 2021 at St. Brendan Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to St. Brendan Catholic Church music ministry.
