Helen Samples Garrett

Helen Samples Garrett, 72, of Dawsonville, GA passed away on Tuesday, November 02, 2021 at her residences after an extended illness.  She was born in Cumming, GA, to the late Junior and Grace Samples.  She was a member of Silver City Baptist Church, Cumming, GA. Helen worked for the Dawson County School System for over 15 years.  She loved going to church and spending time with her family.  She was a loving wife, mother and nana. 

She is preceded in death by her daughter, Pam Garrett.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Butch Garrett of Dawsonville, GA, daughter and son-in-law, Patty and James Day of Dahlonega, GA; granddaughter, Taylor Day of Dahlonega, GA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Emory and Patsy Samples of Cumming, GA, Howard and Donna Samples of Cumming, GA, David and Connie Samples of Dahlonega, GA, J.W. and Margie Samples of Cleveland, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Kathy and Morris Reaves of FT. Worth, TX; and numerous other relatives survive.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, November 4, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at Silver City Baptist Church, Cumming, GA.  Interment will follow the service at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens, Cumming, GA.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. and again on Thursday from 10:00 – 1:00 p.m. at Bearden Funeral Home.
