Charles "Chuck" K. Smith

Charles “Chuck” K. Smith 84, of Gainesville, passed away on Saturday, October 16, 2021.  Chuck was born on July 17, 1937 in Pittsburgh, PA., to the late Charles B. and Alice Kurtz Smith.

Chuck is pre-deceased by his former wife, Jane Metcalf Camp; his brother, Tom Smith and his cousin, Robert Meiers. He is survived by his son, Shayne Charles Smith of Flowery Branch, Georgia and his daughter, Heather “Heddy” Smith Lunenfeld of Petaluma, California and second cousins John Meiers, Herbert Meiers and Kathleen Meiers Sarel. 

Chuck attended high school in Oak Park, Illinois. He served in the U.S. Air Force and volunteered for the Munster, Illinois Fire Department and the Hall County Fire Department. 

Private services will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations may be made in Chuck’s name to The Georgia Academy for the Blind.
