Mr. Dwight Patton Wheeler, age 77 of Watson Street, Toccoa passed away Sunday, October 31, 2021 at his residence.
A son of the late Toy and Thelma Jarrett Wheeler, he was born August 30, 1944 in Stephens County, Georgia where he lived a greater part of his life. He a Veteran of the U.S. Army, was employed with ADT Security for a number of years, was of the Methodist faith and was a member of the Elks Lodge. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Devin Wheeler and by a sister, Doris Mitchell.
Survivors include his wife of the home, Rhonda Wood Wheeler; children, Lavona Bridges of Toccoa, Ken Wheeler of Martin and Dale Wheeler of Gainesville; step-children, Mark and Amanda Price of Toccoa and Marcus and Laura Segers of Wilmington, North Carolina; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; sister, Julia LaCount of Toccoa; a number of nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be Tuesday, November 2, 2021, 2 O’clock p.m. at Camp Mikell Chapel, Toccoa, Georgia.
The family will receive friends at Camp Mikell Chapel from 1 p.m. until the service time.
