James Steve Smith

James Steve Smith, 74, of Commerce, GA passed away Thursday, October 28, 2021. He was preceded in death by his father, Herman Smith; and brother, Christopher Michael Smith. Mr. Smith is survived by his wife of fifty years, Sherian McClung Smith of Commerce, GA; mother, Nell Smith of Carrollton, GA; son, Mark Andrew Smith of Aurburn, GA; granddaughter, Alivia Floria of Commerce, GA; and brother, Sammy (Angela) Smith of Carrollton, GA. Several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive. Mr. Smith was born August 1, 1947 in Carrollton, GA. He received his GED after serving in the United States Navy. He was self-employed in the construction industry, and enjoyed golfing, spending time on the lake fishing, and travelling. He loved grilling and spending time with family and friends. Mr. Smith was a member of Salem Baptist Church in Carrollton, GA. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Tuesday, November 2, 2021 in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Broadlawn Memorial Gardens cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by the American Legion Post 127. The family will receive friends at Flanigan Funeral Home from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Monday, November 1, 2021.
