Mr. Charles Waylon Tolbert, age 40, of Dahlonega passed away Monday, October 25, 2021.
Waylon was a native and lifelong resident of Lumpkin County. He was born on May 20, 1981, and he was preceded in death by his beloved mother Edith Thompson Tolbert. Waylon attended Lumpkin County High School. Although he had to leave this world at a young age, he fought a courageous battle with cancer. Waylon had a way of making you laugh when you were sad and a way to pick you up when you were down. He was always happy and cheerful, even on the days that he felt the worst. Waylon loved the outdoors, his firearms, and fishing. He will always be remembered by the nicknames he gave everyone.
Survivors include his father Charles Tolbert; daughter Megan Tolbert; sisters Shelia Flanagan, and Angela Riggs, all of Dahlonega; brothers James Flanagan (Elizabeth), Gainesville, Greg Abernathy (Stacy), and Clinton Tolbert, both of Dahlonega; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
