Carol Ann Cox Martin

Carol Ann Cox Martin, age 80 of Clarkesville, passed away on Monday, October 25, 2021. Heaven gained a special angel. She is rejoicing on the streets of gold in Heaven. 

Born in Douglasville, Georgia on June 18, 1941, she was a daughter of the late Elie and Annie Mae Nix Cox.   Mrs. Martin was a great loving mom and nanny with a good sense of humor and was known in her community as the “Neighborhood Mom”.  She loved her church where she was a member at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Demorest.  She loved Jesus, all her family and watching the Atlanta Braves. 

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Jack Wendell Martin; daughter, Peggy Nelson; brothers, Henry and Leon and sister, Margaret. 

Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Teressa & Michael Weaver of Clarkesville; son and fiancee, Steve Martin & Rita Harkins; grandchildren, Tonya Boo Brady of Demorest and Ashley Kendra & Benji Williams of Buford; great-grandchildren, Colton Wade Brady, Henry Rowan Williams and Mattie Rose Williams; sister, Shirley Marion of Toccoa; special niece, Donna Rudeseal of Toccoa; special caregiver, Lillian Allen of Clarkesville. 

Private family graveside services will be held at Demorest City Cemetery at a later date.
