Larry Seabolt

Obituary Date: Saturday, October 23, 2021

Mr. Larry Seabolt, age 68, of Dahlonega passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Saturday, October 23, 2021. He was a lifelong resident of Lumpkin County, being born on August 26, 1953, to the late Lyndal Seabolt and the late Janette Walker Seabolt in Dahlonega. Larry was also a lifelong member of Macedonia Church. He and the love of his life, Jo Ann Parks Seabolt, would have celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary this December. If you frequented Moore's Hardware in years past, you likely were met by a smiling face worn by Larry eager to help you, as he was employed by Moore's for 48 years. As you can see, Larry was a loyal man and was committed to his faith, family, and work for his entire life.

After retiring from Moore's Hardware and being a man of work ethics that could not sit still, Larry spent most of his days on their family farm with the cows. When he wasn't mending fences or tending to the herd, he could often be found with a fishing pole in his hand or a rifle on his shoulder, wandering in the outdoors that God had blessed Larry to be surrounded by in the north Georgia mountains. Although he was a hard worker, Larry always knew and embraced the importance of slowing down and spending time with those he loved the most - his family. Every year Larry looked forward to traveling to St. George with his family where they made many precious memories. His family meant the world to him and right at the center of his heart was where his daughters and his grandchildren had a special place. Larry was the best husband, father, grandfather, and brother that his family could have ever asked for. Something else that shared a special place in Larry's heart was Macedonia Baptist Church and his brothers and sisters in Christ there. Larry was the eldest deacon of the church and always made sure the grounds were in the very best of shape.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Janice Seabolt.

He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Jo Ann Parks Seabolt, of Dahlonega; daughters and sons-in-law, Mindy (Joel) Allison of Cleveland, and Alyssa (Curtis) Payne of Dahlonega; siblings, Don (Gail) Seabolt of Dahlonega, Derrel (Lisa) Seabolt of Cleveland, Phil (Tena) Seabolt of Dahlonega, and Sharon (Dwayne) Brown of Dahlonega; grandchildren, Joseph Clark, Gaines Clark, and Isabella Payne, and adopted grandson, Brody Bowen; and best friend, Pete Truelove. Numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and other relatives also survive.

Funeral Services are scheduled for Tuesday, October 26, 2021, at 2:00 PM at Macedonia Baptist Church with Rev. Lyman Caldwell, Rev. Phil Miller, and Rev. Shane Savage officiating. Interment will follow in the Cemetery of Macedonia Baptist Church with Casey Garrett officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, October 25, 2021, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Larry can be made to Macedonia Baptist Church, 183 McDonald Road, Dahlonega, Georgia 30533.

2 Timothy 4:7 - "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith."
