Mary Elizabeth Belz Bruckner, 74, of Cumming, Georgia passed away on Oct. 19, 2021.
Mary Buckner, the daughter of William Augustus Belz & Elizabeth Fragge, was born January 1, 1947 in Asheville, NC.
She attended UNC-Asheville where she received a B.A. in History. There she met and married James Buckner in 1968. Over their 53 years of marriage, they were blessed with two loving sons, Mark Buckner (Annette Buckner) & Jason Bucker (Nikole Kimes), and three grandchildren, Will, Caroline, and Kaya Buckner.
Mary worked with the state as a childcare licensing agent in her early years. She was a loyal and loving partner. She was a spirited and doting mother whose greatest joy was watching her sons thrive. She could not stop smiling when she was talking about her grandchildren, and she was an exceptional mother in law, friend and flower lover. Mary also enjoyed traveling with their 50th anniversary trip to Paris being a top memory for her and the family. She was an avid reader, lifelong bridge player, and ardent Braves fan. Her faith was tried and true and her presence will be greatly missed.
Her memorial service will be Friday, Oct 22nd at John’s Creek Baptist Church. Visitation is at 10 am and service to be held at 11:30 am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her name to John’s Creek Baptist Church.
