W. Nell Dale

W. Nell Dale passed away peacefully on October 19, 2021 at The Oaks at Hampton in Cumming, GA.  Visitation for family and friends will be at Little and Davenport in Gainesville, GA on Thursday, October 21 from 2 to 7 PM.  A celebration of her life will be held Friday, October 22 at Little and Davenport Chapel at 1 PM with David Simpson officiating.  A private burial will be held at a later date.

Mrs. Dale was born August 18, 1928 in Jackson County, GA.  She was the only daughter of Frank and Viola Gooch and sister to Myron and Lewis Gooch.

She married Joseph W Dale (Joe) on Thanksgiving Day in 1947.  They were active members of Sardis Baptist Church until his passing.  Later she joined Lanier Christian Church where she was an active member for many years.  Nell retired from the District Attorney’s office after 25 years of service to Hall, Lumpkin, Dawson and White Counties under the leadership of Mr. Jeff Wayne.

She was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Viola Gooch, brother Myron Gooch and loving husband Joe Dale.  She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Jody and Chuck Sessa of Cumming, granddaughters Melissa Sessa of Dawsonville and Suzanne Sessa of Cumming, brother and sister-in-law Lewis and Gwen Gooch of Florida, sister-in-law Navona Gooch Forgay of Jefferson, brother-in-law Carlton Clark of Gainesville and several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you donate in her memory to Lanier Christian Church.  Those wishing to send an online condolence may do so through Little and Davenport.
