Claudine Davis Powers

Mrs. Claudine Davis Powers, age 74 of Cedar Circle, Toccoa passed away Sunday, October 17, 2021 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville.

A daughter of the late Cecil and Bernice Mealor Davis, she was born December 25, 1946 in Stephens County, Georgia where she lived the greater part of her life.  She was retired from Coats and Clark after 30 years of service and later worked with the Atlanta Journal.  She was a foster parent for 15 years and was a member of Hill Street Baptist Church.  She loved being outdoors, enjoying fishing and farming and loved watching sports.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Max Powers and by a brother, Charles Davis.

Survivors include a son, Jesse Lee Powers of Jefferson, Georgia; sister and brother-in-law, Shelby and Ron Holland of Toccoa; niece, Marlene Jane Davis of Arlington, Texas and great-niece, Amber Asobayre of Toccoa.

Graveside services will be Wednesday, October 20, 2021, 4 O’clock p.m. at Stephens Memorial Gardens with The Reverend Jerrell Beatty and The Reverend Paul Garrison officiating.

The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Wednesday from 3 p.m. until time to leave for the graveside.

Interment will follow in the Stephens Memorial Gardens with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Claudine Davis Powers.
