Raymond Wayne Reed

Mr. Raymond “Wayne” Reed, 80, of Gainesville, passed away Sunday, October 17, 2021 at Ashton Senior Living following an extended illness.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 in Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Scott Waters will officiate. The family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.

Born on June 22, 1941 in Gainesville, he was the son of the late Rev. Horace Reed and the late Verdine Whitmire Reed. He was retired from the Georgia Department of Labor where he was an inspector. Mr. Reed was a member of Grace Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Reed is preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Reed.

Mr. Reed is survived by his daughters and sons in law, Kim and Randy Page of Gainesville, Chandra and Todd Burnette of Flowery Branch, Leanne and Tim Moses of Commerce; grandchildren, Erin, Hasten, Marleigh, Mason; a number of great grandchildren; sisters, Linda Patton of Cleveland, Judy Harkins of Gainesville; sister and brother in law, Patti and Billy Freeman of Gainesville and a number of other loving relatives.
