Jessie Childs York

Mrs. Jessie Childs York, age 81 of Nub Garland Road, Toccoa passed away Friday, October 8, 2021 at Pruitt Health Toccoa.

A daughter of the late Roscoe and Mattie Jordan Childs, she was born December 15, 1939 in Stephens County, Georgia where she lived all her life.  She was retired from Coats and Clark, was a published author and of the Holiness faith, a member of Gateway Community Chapel.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl York, son, Timothy Earl York, daughter-in-law, Lorrie York and a granddaughter, January York.

Survivors include her son, Alonzo York of Toccoa; grandchildren, Kevin York, Kristi and Jason Hicks, Meranda Odom, Jeremy York, Jamie Silva and Tucker York; ten great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Audrey Cash York of Toccoa.

Memorial service will be Sunday, October 10, 2021, 4 O’clock p.m. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with The Reverend Don Scott officiating.

The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Sunday, 3 p.m. until the service time.
