Ruby Goldie Thomason Free

Ruby Goldie Thomason Free, age 79 of Nicholson, formerly of Habersham County, passed away on Friday, October 8, 2021.

Born on April 3, 1942, in Cornelia, she was a daughter of the late Terry E. and Perna Tench Thomason. Mrs. Free was retired from ConAgra Foods with 27 years of service and was a member of Mud Creek Baptist Church. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. In her spare time, she was an avid reader. 

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Free was also preceded in death by sons-in-law, Yogi DeMonia, and Gary Thomason; daughter-in-law, Connie Smith Bryant; sister, Sylvia Thomason Parker. 

Survivors include life-long friend, Clinton Floyd Swain, Sr. of Clermont; children, Tina Robin Bryant DeMonia of Clarkesville, Steven Benson Bryant of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Michelle Lynn Puckett of Jefferson, and Kendra Joy Free Miller (Bruce, Jr.) of Clermont; grandchildren, Chad, Heather, Brad, Casey, Jessie, Melissa, Stephanie, Colby, Haley, Stacie, Tracie, and Cade; 15 great grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Vickie Thomason Evans (James) of Gainesville; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services are 11 am on Monday, October 11, 2021, in the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Eddie Palmer officiating.  Interment will follow in the Old Mud Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. 

The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Sunday at the funeral home.
