Dorothy Jean Stelmachers

Dorothy Jean Stelmachers, age 86 of Cleveland, passed away on Wednesday, October 6, 2021.

Dorothy was born on May 31, 1935, in Cleveland Georgia, to the late Jody and Lula Thomas.  The oldest of thirteen siblings, she had a deep love for her family and her church, Mountain View Baptist Church.  In 1953, Dorothy graduated from Cleveland High School.  Shortly after, she moved to Atlanta to attend Business College. Dorothy then began working for Southern Bell and married Raymond Stelmachers the love of her life in 1956.  Dorothy worked for Southern Bell and Bellsouth Services and retired with 36 years of service.  Dorothy had a passion for reading scripture and enjoyed working with plants, sewing and traveling.

Survivors include daughter, Lynda Fulton; son and daughter-in-law, Raymond and Theresa Stelmachers; grandchildren, Brandon Fulton (Amanda), Stacey Fulton, Ryan Stelmachers (Briana), Alexander Stelmachers; great-grandchildren, Sean Fulton, Kaydence Fulton, Piper Fulton, Harrison Stelmachers, and Amelia Stelmachers.

Siblings - Deceased Edith Thomas Hunt, Sara Thomas Dockery, and Homer Graham Thomas

Survived by: James Thomas (Joanne); Joseph (Buddy) and Judy Thomas; Martha Grindle; Melanie Thomas Young (Phil); Sam Thomas (Ann); Shelia Thomas Simmons (Randy); Mike Thomas (Kathy)

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at 11AM at Mountain View Baptist Church Cemetery, 950 Tesnatee Gap Valley Road, Cleveland , GA 30528
