Harley Hushell Payne

   Mr. Harley Hushell Payne age 73 of Clark Rd. Clermont, GA., formerly of Blairsville passed away peacefully on Friday October 1, 2021 in the North East GA Medical Center following a brief illness. Mr. Payne was born on November 9, 1947 in Union County, the son of the late Wayne Payne and the late Mattie Garrett Payne. Harley loved being outdoors and spending time with his family. He was a loving husband, father, and brother. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Mary Shirley Payne in 2011 and also a brother, Paul Payne. Mr. Payne was a member of New Harmony Baptist Church.

   Surviving Mr. Payne are one son, Harley Payne Jr. of Clermont, three sisters and one brother in law, Lovell and Jeff Halsey, Linda Ingram and Lois Truelove all of Clermont, one brother, George Lloyd Payne of Clermont, a sister in law, Wanda Payne of Clermont, several nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends also survive.

   A Graveside service will be held on Tuesday October 5, 2021 at 3:00 pm from the New Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Jack Cochran officiating. The family will meet with friends following the services at the cemetery.
