Mrs. Janet Lee Parks, age 91, of Suches passed away Saturday, October 2, 2021.
Mrs. Parks was born on August 26, 1930, to the late Clifford Hamilton and Netta Abercrombie Lee. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 56 years Leonard Parks; brothers Guy Lee, Freddy Lee, and other half brothers and sisters; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law James and Bonnell Parks, Fred and Patsey Parks, Lee and Reba Parks, Walter and Nora Sullens, Ervin Parks, and J.E. Truelove. She loved her family dearly as they were her main priority. She was affectionately known to all as “Memaw”. In her spare time she loved to garden. Mrs. Parks was a member of Zion Baptist Church.
Survivors include her son Lenny Parks and his fiancé Gail Martin; grandchildren Kayla Parks, and Benjamin (Melanie) Parks; great-grandchildren Harley Slay, Hunter Slay, Jake Parks, and Hank Thomas; sisters-in-law Adell Lee, Wanda Parks, and Kathleen Truelove; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Tuesday, October 5, 2021, at Zion Baptist Church, Suches. The Rev. Jim Sheffield and the Rev. Tom Etterlee will officiate. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until service hour at Zion Baptist Church, Suches.
