Gene "Jack" Chambers

Mr. Gene "Jack" Chambers, age 84, of Murrayville passed away, at home, Wednesday, September 29, 2021. Jack was known for making the best boiled peanuts around. 

Jack was born on January 6, 1937, to the late John and Fannie Chambers of Murrayville. He is preceded in death by his wife Bertha Grizzle Chambers who passed nine years to the day of his passing. He is also preceded in death by his brothers Homer and Ralph Chambers.

Jack is survived by his seven loving children, Peggy (Lynn) Gilstrap of Clermont, Ricky (Wakinea) Chambers of Murrayville, Janice (John) Barrett of Dahlonega, Danny (Frankie) Chambers of Gainesville, Connie (David) Norrell of Dawsonville, Mary (Marty) Murphy of Cumming, and Scott (Janie) Chambers of Murrayville; brothers, Richard Chambers, RB Chambers, and Curtis Chambers; sisters, Joyce Sharp, and Geneva Brown; sisters-in-law, Lois Grizzle, Janelle Grizzle, and Wanda Gilstrap; and brothers-in-law, Tony Grizzle, Donald Grizzle, David Grizzle, Ralph Grizzle, and Clyde Grizzle.

Jack is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, October 2, 2021, at the chapel of Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home. A viewing will be held on Friday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be at Corinth Baptist Church in Suches, Georgia. Reverend Brent Gilstrap and Reverend Marty Murphy will officiate.
