Nora Mae Whelchel Dodd, 86 of Gainesville passed away Sunday September 26, 2021 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
Born in Dawson County, Mrs. Dodd had lived in Hall County for most of her life. She was the daughter of the late Lee and Nora Clark Whelchel. She was retired from the Hall County School System where she worked in the lunchroom at North Hall High School.
Survivors include her brothers; Howard Whelchel and Charles Whelchel, both of Gainesville. A number of nieces and nephews also survive.
Mrs. Dodd is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ralph Dodd; brothers, Lee A., J.W., Kenneth and George Whelchel; sister, Lois Ridley.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday September 29, 2021 at 1:30 p.m. at the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Steve Baker will officiate. The family will receive friends at the cemetery Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until 1:30 p.m.
