Mrs. Betty McAllister Walker, age 78 of Chopped Oak Road, Toccoa passed away Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville.
A daughter of the late Clarence and Alpha Bell Smith McAllister, she was born May 15, 1943 in Oconee County, South Carolina having lived most of her life in Toccoa. She was employed with several companies over the years and most recently was a caregiver at the Clary Center. She was a member of Chopped Oak Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Leon Walker in 1979, by a daughter, Joyce Eder in 1992 and by a son-in-law, Johnny Scott.
Survivors include two daughters and son-in-law, Shirley Scott and Wanda and Doug Frady both of Toccoa; sons and daughters-in-law, Earl Leon Walker, Jr and Karen and Bernice (Bernie) Walker and Marcia both of Toccoa; seventeen grandchildren; thirty-one great-grandchildren; long time companion, Jimmy Stowe; brothers, Frank McAllister, Johnny McAllister and Rudolph McAllister all of West Union, South Carolina; two sisters, Lucille Burrell and Carolyn Neal both of West Union, South Carolina.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, September 29, 2021, 2 O’clock p.m. at the Chopped Oak Baptist Church with the Reverend Alvin Burns and the Reverend Chris Webb officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Dylan Hunt, Kenneth Frady, John Scott, Derick Frady, Corey Walker and Leon Walker.
The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Tuesday, 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Due to the health and well-being of the community, masks are encouraged during the visitation and service.
Interment to follow in the Chopped Oak Baptist Church Cemetery with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Betty McAllister Walker.
