Homer J. Whiting, Jr.

Homer J. Whiting, Jr., 79, of Buford, GA, died Wednesday, September 22, 2021. The family is honoring Homer’s wishes to be cremated and no service to be held; memorial contributions can be made to the Humane Society of Northeast Georgia, in memory of Homer.

Homer was preceded in death by his son, Samuel Shade Whiting, and his parents, Homer J. Whiting, Sr. and Blanche Puckett Whiting. He is survived by his wife, Billie Whiting of Buford; uncle, Troy Puckett of Albany, GA; brother-in-law, Walter Smith and wife Joline of MI; several cousins.

Homer was a lifelong resident of Buford, GA and was of the Christian faith. He worked and retired as an engineer with GM and was a Veteran of the United States Army Reserve. He was an avid wood worker and never met a tool he didn’t like. Homer will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
