Lloyd (Bigga Lloyd) Alphonso Salmon, age 63, of Gainesville, Georgia, passed away Monday, September 20, 2021.
Lloyd (Bigga Lloyd) Alphonso Salmon, a loving father to his children and grandchildren, called “dada” by his daughters, was born on Friday, October, 18 1957, in Juno Crescent Road, Clarendon, Jamaica W.I. A gentle giant, he was a passionate father and grandparent to his kids and grandkids. Among his other passions were his love for his horses and horse races. Lloyd also developed a passion to drive trucks and was able to realize that goal as a truck driver for a flour mill company in Jamaica. He migrated to the United States in 1994 and made Gainesville his home for 27 years.
When Lloyd came to the U.S., he pursued his passion for operating trucks by working for Kubota Corporation. Lloyd, a people’s person, was relentless and hardworking; He continued his hard work ethics as a taxi driver serving Gainesville and its surrounding communities.
Bigga Lloyd is survived by his daughters, Heather Salmon, Tracy Salmon-Cummings, and Yolondo Salmon-Thomas. His grandchildren: Delloy Willis, Craigh Powell, Orville Perrier’ Hailey Perrier, Royale Cummings, Genesis Thomas, Rashane Wilson, Nathan Turland, Taneisha Whyte, and Lamar Walters. Siblings: Mayon Myles, Texas Myles, Renford Salmon, Beverly Salmon, and Gloria Salmon. Step-children: Tamar McCoy and Terrick Smith. His best friend “Winston” and special friend Antonitte Lawson. He is predeceased by his parents Doris Thompson and Victor Salmon.
A visitation for Lloyd is planned for Sunday, September 26, 2021, from 4 pm to 6 pm. The visitation will be at the Memorial Park Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, 989 Riverside Dr, Gainesville, GA 30501. The family will be there to welcome friends and relatives.
The funeral service will also be at Memorial Park Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, 989 Riverside Dr, Gainesville, GA 30501 on Monday September 27, 2021 at 2:00 PM. Officiating Minister: Reverend Niles. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 pm Sunday, September 26, 2021, at the funeral home.
