Lonnie Goss, 66, of Dawsonville passed away Sunday, September 19, 2021 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a short illness.
Born September 20, 1954 in Forsyth County to the late Gaston and Laverne Goss, he had lived in Dawson County for the past 35 years. Lonnie worked for Sleevco for 25 years before retiring to spend more time with his family. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved camping and fishing with his grandchildren. Lonnie was a member of Sweetwater Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for over 20 years. He was also preceded in death by his father in and mother in law, Robert and Stella Louise Denny.
Surviving are the love of his life and wife of 41 years, Sandra Goss, Dawsonville; daughter and son in law, Jessica and Jason Wright, Dawsonville; son and daughter in law, Jason and Brittany Goss, Dawsonville; embraced in love sons, Lucas Jr. and Hannah Ray, Dawsonville, Jessie Ray, Dawsonville; grandsons, Blake, Grayson “Donkey”, and James; granddaughters, Kayla “Tater Bug”, Emmi-Lou, Zoey, and Khloie “Scribble”; sisters, Connie Lowman, Dawsonville, Dina Goss, Cumming; brother, Hugh Goss, Cumming; brother in law, Jimmy Denny, Dawsonville; sister in law, Ruth Nettles, Dawsonville; and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at 2 o’clock at Sweetwater Baptist Church. The remains will be placed in state at 12:30 p.m. Rev. Tim Hubbard and Rev. Mark Akins will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 4 until 8 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the funeral home to assist with final expenses.
