Mrs. Ruby Jean Fowler Griffin, age 82, of Persimmon Street, Toccoa passed away Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville.
A daughter of the late General Lee Fowler and Mary Lou Davis Fowler, she was born November 1, 1938 in Stephens County, Georgia where she lived all her life. She was employed with Tugalo Health Care for a number of years as a nurse and was a member of Tabernacle Holiness Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Lee Griffin, Sr., two sons, Roy Lee Griffin, Jr. and Daniel Griffin and by a daughter, Cathy Diane Ray.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Setren and Clara Wilbanks both of Toccoa; son, James Griffin, Jr. of Toccoa; daughter-in-law, Cindy Griffin of Toccoa; fifteen grandchildren and forty-two great-grandchildren; sister, Mammie Steele of Atlanta, Georgia; a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Sunday, September 19, 2021, 4 O’clock p.m. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with The Reverend Dorsey Holmes officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Anthony Charles, Hayden Setren, Kevin Griffin, Cameron Miller, James Griffin, Jr. and Alan Griffin.
The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Sunday, 2 p.m. until time for the service. Due to the health and well-being of the community, masks are encouraged during the visitation and service.
Interment will follow in the Zebulon Baptist Church Cemetery with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Ruby Jean Fowler Griffin.
