Lacy Kenny

Obituary Date: Monday, September 13, 2021

Born in Brooklyn, NY, Lacy passed away peacefully on September 13, 2021 in her Winder, GA home under Hospice care at the age of 62. She fought a courageous battle against breast cancer. She shared her home with her significant other, Lloyd Johnson.

She is survived by her two daughters, Carly Kenny and Elizabeth (Liz) Kenny Baker, her husband Jimmy Baker and her beloved grandchildren, Paislee, James and Berkley. Also survived by her siblings, Diane DeVore, Lynn Rose-Kitchens, Don Ferguson, Jr., and Patty Dyssegard along with numerous nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.

She was predeceased by her parents, Don and Lacy Ferguson of Marietta, Georgia, previously of New York.

Lacy grew up in Marietta and went to school there until she moved to Houston, Texas to become a stewardess with Braniff Airways. After her career with Braniff she returned home to follow her calling, studying to become a RN in nursing at DeKalb College. Lacy became a RN and worked for Piedmont and most recently at NEGA Medical Center.

Lacy lived many years in Flowery Branch, GA, was married and while raising her daughters owned her own home health care business, Interim Healthcare of NEGA. Always with a big smile on her face – always helping others in need. She was quite a Woman!

She was the life of the party or any gathering, she was very witty and a great mimic! She was a voracious reader and could discuss any topic. She loved music, most any genre and especially rock and roll. She always had a beautiful smile on her face and loved to live life. She made every moment count, even while sick she still had boundless energy. She loved her friends and family and adored her children and grandchildren. She left us too soon and would tell all this advice – Stay young at heart, love one another, don’t argue and enjoy the short time we have on this planet!

The memorial service will be held at Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel and Gardens in Buford, GA on Friday, September 17, 2021 at 3:00 pm.

Flowers accepted or donations to the Susan B. Komen Breast Cancer Society would be her choice.
