Dawn Danette "Dee" Carpenter

Ms. Dawn Danette “Dee” Carpenter, age 49 of Gainesville, passed away on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center, Braselton Campus following a brief illness.

Celebration of Dee’s life is scheduled for Friday, September 17, 2021 at 3:30 pm at Montgomery Memorial Baptist Church.  She will lie in state at the church from 2:30 pm – 3:30 pm, prior to the service.  Reverend Daryl Womack and Reverend Charles Underwood will officiate.  Interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 16, 2021 from 2 – 4 pm and 6 – 8 pm at the funeral home.

Miss Carpenter was born October 29, 1971 in Valdosta, Georgia to the Lee Allen Carpenter and Connie Alligood Carpenter.  She was a graduate of West Hall High School, later graduating from Valdosta State University with a Bachelor’s Degree and part of Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority.  Dee was a member of Montgomery Memorial Baptist Church, very faithful in the pre-school department there.  She loved Florida State Seminoles, Coach Bobby Bowden being her favorite.  Dee was loved by all who knew her and her special smile was contagious when you were with her.  Dee was preceded in death by her father, Lee Allen Carpenter and her uncles, Ronnie Alligood and Richard Carpenter, her grandmother, Carmie Colley and other grandparents.     

Miss Carpenter is survived by her mother, Connie Carpenter of Gainesville, her sister & brother-in-law, Leslie & Jason Wiley of Gainesville, her nephew, Dalton Lee Wiley of Gainesville, a number of aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives and her fur baby, Bella.  Her church family at Montgomery Memorial Baptist Church and family at Sugar Hill Academy, who all loved her very much.
