Dewayne Calvin Gayton, 68, of Dawsonville passed away Saturday, September 11, 2021. Dewayne had a warm spirit with a big personality; once you met him, you never forgot him. He loved hunting, being with his family and helping others. A member of Dawsonville Baptist Church, Dewayne is preceded in death by his parents, Carroll and Patricia Gayton.
Survivors include his wife, Cathy Gayton; son and daughter-in-law, Carroll and Jennifer Gayton; daughters and sons-in-law, Amy and Travis Edmunds, Brandi and Donnie Filaski; grandchildren, Dylan and Brandee Clouse, Gabe (Siera Burge) Clouse, Katie Clouse, John Morgan Gayton, Grant Gayton, Brandon Filaski, Bradley Filaski, Bethany Filaski, Dalton Edmunds, Tyler Edmunds; great grandchildren, Cayden Clouse, Mackenzie Clouse, Haylee Clouse, Amelia Clouse; sister and brother-in-law, Sylvia and Terry Smith; brothers and sisters-in-law, Kenneth and Brenda Gayton, Malcom and Sharon Gayton; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 16, at 1:00 p.m. at the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Cory Gilleland and Rev. Ricky Byrd officiating. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
