Lloyd Burrell Nix, Jr. age 78 of the Fairview Community, Demorest, Georgia went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 6, 2021.
Born in Clarkesville, Georgia on March 29, 1943, he was a son of Lillie Mae Savage Nix of Demorest, Georgia & the late Lloyd Burrell Nix, Sr. Mr. Nix was retired from L P Gas Services, Inc. In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking with furniture, gardening, & working with tractors. Mr. Nix was a member of Fairfield Baptist Church where he served as a church deacon for over 48 years.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a son, Greg Nix.
Survivors include his loving wife of 58 years, Myra Smith Nix of Demorest, GA; daughter & son-in-law, Deborah & Greg Brock of Baldwin, GA; son & daughter-in-law, Jonathan & Chastity Nix of Gainesville, GA; daughter-in-law, Heather Nix Hood of Cleveland, GA; sister, Peggy Wilson of Cornelia, GA; sister & brother-in-law, Joann & Bruce Thomas of Demorest, GA; brothers & sisters-in-law, Gerald & Gail Nix of Cleveland, GA; Tommy & Tiffany Nix of Aiken, SC. 9 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren, other relatives, & friends.
Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 08, 2021 at Fairfield Baptist Church with Rev. Keith Allison, Rev. Ben Tanner, & Rev. Rex Chosewood officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
