Joyce Wilson Hagwood

On Thursday, September 2, 2021, Joyce Wilson Hagwood, age 71, of Gainesville, GA, passed away.

            Mrs. Hagwood was born on May 17, 1950 in Gainesville to the late John David and Jimmie Lee Wilson. For 46 years, she was the devoted wife of Teddy Hagwood, who preceded her in death. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She served the Lord faithfully as the pianist at Bethany Baptist Church for 45 years. She worked in several practices within the Gainesville medical community as a licensed medical coder and billing specialist. She was “Joy” to all who knew and loved her, a name she represented well through her testimony. To know “Joy” was to know a Proverbs 31 woman. Her price to those who loved her was truly far beyond rubies and always will be.

            Mrs. Hagwood is survived by her son & daughter-in-law, Jeff & Tanya Hagwood, her daughter & son-in-law, Shelly & Joshua Morris, grandchildren, Kaylin & Daniel Parker, Jack Hagwood, Ashley Hagwood, Shelby Clark, and Reid Clark, great-grandson, Samuel Parker, her two brothers, Ron Wilson and Johnny Wilson, and three sisters, Joan Kinney, Pat Wilson, and Teresa Wiley, and several uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

            Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, September 5th at Bethany Baptist Church-900 Cardinal Drive, Gainesville, GA 30501, with Rev. Lamar Purcell officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 - 7 p.m. Saturday, September 4th at the funeral home.
