JoAnn Knight Thomas

JoAnn Knight Thomas, age 79 of Clarkesville, Georgia went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at her residence following an extended illness.

Born in Decatur, Georgia on November 20, 1941, she was a daughter of the late Joe Boyd & Gladys Atwood Knight. JoAnn was a caregiver her entire life. In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting, watching western’s & cooking shows, sending cards with her beautiful handwriting, bible studies with her friend, Barbara, and was an avid Atlanta Braves fan. Most of all, JoAnn looked forward to precious time with her children, grandchildren, & great-grandchildren. She was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Betty Merritt, Judy Knight, & Patricia Knight.

Survivors include her children, Lisa & Buck Hooper of Demorest, GA; Allen & Christy Thomas of Cleveland, GA; grandchildren, Levi & Jamie Thomas of Cleveland, GA; Ashley Hooper & Mitchell Davis of Clarkesville, GA; Sarah Hooper & Justin Rumsey, Will & Suzanne Brown, Kelsey & Jordan Allison all of Cleveland, GA; great-grandchildren, Kylie McAllister, Anabelle Thomas, Oaklen Brown, Kylie Mae Thomas, Kinsley McAllister, Cass Thomas, Anslen Brown, Larkyn Allison, Haislee Thomas, Hensley Allison, Dennam Allison, & Boone Rumsey; sister, Ruth Holliday of Cleveland, GA; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives, & friends.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 03, 2021 at Hillside Memorial Chapel in Clarkesville with Rev. Kenneth McEntire, Ms. Sarah Hooper, & Ms. Barbara Blackwell officiating.

Those attending the memorial service at the funeral home are requested to observe all guidelines for social distancing provided by the Centers for Disease Control in regards to the Covid-19 virus.
