Derran D. “Pig” Stovall was born in Gainesville, Georgia on February 9th, 1961 to the late Baby Ray and Alberta Stovall. Derran departed his life on August 30th, 2021. He was preceded in death by his twin sister Deborah Stovall, and brothers Charles Banks and Henry Banks.
Derran was a graduate of Gainesville High School. He furthered his education at Lanier Technical College, earning certification in Heating and Air Conditioning. He was the “go-to” for fixing everything. You could rely on him to answer a call and tell you each step on how to fix the issue. Derran worked at Wrigley’s for 32 years before retiring. He was known to give you a pack of gum.
Derran was a faithful servant of the church and he loved the Lord. He was a dedicated member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, where he sang in the Male Choir and served on various committees within the church. You could hear him singing some of his favorite songs including, “Brand New Life”, “My Soul is a Witness”, and “It’s your time”. Derran had a love for cars. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren.
Derran leaves to cherish his memories to his loving daughter Kaniesha Stovall- Wright; Grandchildren; Kinsley Harris, Kaylee Wright, Kenneth “Tre” Wright III; Siblings; Peggy Brown, Howard (Cynetia) Banks, Baby Ray Jr. (Gretchen) Stovall, Demetrius (Michele) Stovall; a special friend Staci Butts; his workmate Ken Martin; a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends, all who he loved dearly.
