Styles Reed Strickland

Mr. Styles Reed Strickland, age 69 of Old Brookhaven Circle, Toccoa passed away Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at the Stephens County Hospital.

A son of the late Charles Reed Strickland and Jeanette Tyner Strickland, he was born February 25, 1952 in Stephens County, Georgia where he lived all his life.  He was a 1971 graduate of Stephens County High School and was self-employed. Styles was a beloved husband, father and papa and was an avid gardener and traveler. He attended Rock Creek Baptist Church.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Reed Strickland and Jeanette Tyner Strickland, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Herman and Elaine Harbert, two brothers, Charles Danny Strickland and David Strickland and by a brother-in-law, Joe Aaron.

Survivors include his wife of the home, Marilyn Harbert Strickland; son, Kane (Joley) Strickland of Toccoa; daughter, Courtney (Daniel) Kimsey of Toccoa; granddaughters, Reyd and Hayden Strickland, Anastyn Gunn and Sawyer Kimsey; grandsons, Mason and Landon Kimsey; siblings, Diane Aaron of Hull, Georgia, Jack and Linda Carol Strickland of Hull, Georgia, Allen and Phyllis Strickland of Toccoa and Joe and Delores Strickland of Avalon; sister-in-law, Suzan Strickland of Seneca, South Carolina; sister-in-law, Marie (Jimmy) Dean of Demorest; a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Friday, September 3, 2021, 2 O’clock p.m. at Rock Creek Baptist Church with The Reverend Ken Jackson officiating.  The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Jared Dean, Jimmy Mitchell, Evan Strickland, Bradley Strickland, Chip Strickland and Eddie Turner.

The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Friday from 11:30 a.m. until time to leave for the service.  Online condolences may be left for the family at www.acree-davisfh.com.

Due to the health and well-being of our community, masks are encouraged during the visitation and service. 

Flowers are optional.  Memorials may be made to Rock Creek Baptist Church, 3729 Rock Creek Road, Toccoa, Georgia  30577 in memory of Mr. Styles Reed Strickland.

Interment will follow in the Rock Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory in charge of the arrangements for Mr. Styles Reed Strickland.
