Melvin Harrison Ledford

Mr. Melvin Harrison Ledford, 81, of Alto passed away Saturday, August 28, 2021 at his residence following an extended illness.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 2, 2021 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Mr. Comer Ledford will officiate. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. and on Wednesday, September 1st from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Born on March 17, 1940, he was the son of the late Lee Roland and Mary Parr Ledford. He was a retired farmer in the chicken industry.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Ledford is preceded in death by his sisters, Ruby Voyles, Mary Ledford; brothers, Bobby Ledford, Homer Ledford, Junior Ledford, Ted Ledford and Wilburn Ledford.

Mr. Ledford is survived by his wife, Rachel Ledford of Alto; daughters and sons in law, Susie and Matt Tumlin of Gainesville, Joan and David Cline of Maysville; son and daughter in law, Melvin and Sherry Ledford of Jefferson; grandchildren, Becky Martin, Brian Orr, Steven Ledford, Kayla Ledford, Zak Ray, John Ray III, Trevor Cline, Tifa Cline, Courtney Kidd; 12 great-grandchildren; sisters, Christine Martin of Talmo, Wilma Smith of Gainesville, Vina Brooks of Hull, Pat Lewis of Gainesville, Reba Smith of Pensacola, FL; brothers, Ned Ledford of Pendergrass, Comer Ledford of Gainesville and a number of nieces, nephews and other loving relatives.
