Charles “Clyde” Moody, age 76 of Cleveland, passed away August 27th, 2021.
Clyde was born on July 17th, 1945, to the late Charles and Mary Crane Moody. He graduated from White County High School in 1963 and worked for many years as a tire distributor for Hoosier Tires.
“Papa” Clyde was known for spending time with his grandsons, playing golf and taking them on adventures. His grandsons always referred to him as “Papa Clyde” The man, the myth and the legend.” He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends and loved his racing community. He is preceded in death by his parents as well as his brother Bill Moody and sister Judith Moody.
Clyde is survived by wife of 56 years Elaine Moody, Cleveland; daughters, Debbie Moody Flynn and son in law, Brian Flynn, Michelle, and Robert Padgett all of Cleveland; grandsons, Nolan Flynn, Matt Flynn and Duncan Moody brothers, Clarence Moody (Jeanise), Clermont; James Moody (Margaret) Demorest; sister, Lois Taylor, Demorest; sisters, Kay Jackson (Royal) of Helen; sister, Ann Jackson, Cleveland; as well as special nephew, Josh Pilgrim and special niece Tonya McCord.
Memorial services are scheduled for 2 P.M. Saturday, October 23, 2021 at Union Grove Congregational Holiness Church. Rev. Paul Flynn and Rev. Bobby Ivester will officiate. The family will receive friends from 12 Noon-2 P.M. Saturday prior to the service at the church.
