Carolyn Rice

Carolyn Rice, 75, of Dawsonville passed away August 27, 2021 at her residence following a period of declining health.

Born November 21, 1945 to the late Tom and Madelene Beck, she was a lifelong resident of Dawson County.  Carolyn worked hard all throughout her life from the time she graduated from Dawson County High School until her retirement.  She loved going to church and was a member of Pleasant Hill Full Gospel Church in Dawsonville.  A loving wife, mother and grandmother, Carolyn was preceded in death by a host of beloved relatives.

Surviving are her husband of 58 years, Benny Joe Rice of Dawsonville; son and daughter in law, Mike and Wendy Rice of Dawsonville; granddaughter, Macy Rice of Illinois; sisters in law and brother in law, Gracie Lou Walls, Annie Sue and Jimmy Chester; brothers in law and sisters in law, Herman and Vondell Rice, Billy and Teresa Rice, Betty Rice; special cousins, Vickie Graham, Rita Kittle; other relatives.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to caregivers, Weba, Kim, Denise, and Vickie.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday August 29, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel.  Rev. Jimmy Payne, Rev. Tony Holtzclaw and Rev. Austin Houston will officiate.  Interment will follow in Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery. 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday August 28 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m.
