Francis Jerome Woods, III

Francis Jerome Woods III, age 79, of Sugar Hill, GA passed away Tuesday, August 4, 2021.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis J. and Margaret Perry Woods; brother, John Woods.  He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Linda Gribbon Woods; children, Francis J. (Gina) Woods IV, Michael A. (Marti) Woods, Tamara Woods (David) Nick,  Nathan A. (Virginia) Woods, Kathryn Woods (Jason) Watson; 8 grandchildren, Lauren Woods McCraney, Clayton Woods, Maggie Watson, Tyler Nick, Sydney Nick, Casey Nick, Caroline Woods, Claire Woods; brothers, Christopher (Jerrilyn) Woods, Thomas (Lela) Woods, Lawrence Woods; sisters, Carolyn (Glenn) Wells, Brenda Steele; several nieces, nephews cousins.  Mr. Woods was born in Ft. McPherson, GA on May 1, 1942.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy from 1961 to 1970.  He was a 1961 graduate of St. Pius X High School in Albuquerque, New Mexico.  Mr. Woods earned a certificate in Theological Studies and a Spiritual Direction Certificate from Spring Hill College in Mobile, AL.  He worked in the Nuclear Power industry for 27 years.  After retiring from energy production, he served as a Lay Ecclesial Minister in Mississippi for Glen Mary Home Missioners for 10 years.   A  Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, August 30, 2021 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Flowery Branch, GA.  A Wake will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday,  August 29, 2021 at Flanigan Funeral Home, Buford, GA.
