Stanley Dean Griffis

Stanley Dean Griffis, age 49 of Tallulah Falls, passed away on Monday, August 23, 2021.

Born in Starke, Florida on October 19, 1971, Stan was the son of Barbara Bradley Cain and the late Sidney Woodrow Griffis. Stan was a 1989 Graduate of Oakwood Christian School in Anderson and later earned a B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Clemson University. Stan was a United States Army Veteran having served in the South Carolina National Guard and was assigned to 263rd Battalion, HQ, Air Defense.  After college Stan began his career at Torrington/Timken in Dahlonega and in 2008 transferred to the RBC Corporation, Aerostructures Division, where he currently served as General Manager.  Stan was a jack of all trades and could fix absolutely anything.  He enjoyed working on cars and tractors, he loved hunting, fishing, hiking, camping or anything else that could be done outside. Without question, Stan was a family man, he loved his family with every ounce of his soul. In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by son Caleb Matthew Griffis.

Survivors include his wife Tamara Martin Griffis of Tallulah Falls, mother and stepfather Barbara and Doyle Cain of Anderson, South Carolina, mother in law and father in law Marvin and JoAnne Martin of Dahlonega, son Caden Griffis of Tallulah Falls, daughter Carsyn Griffis of Tallulah Falls, brother and sister in law Stacey and Kelly Griffis of Fair Play, South Carolina, brother in law and sister in law Darren and Shelly Martin of Dawsonville as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, August 26, 2021 at Hillside Memorial Chapel.  Interment will follow the service in Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery in Dahlonega.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 from 6-8 PM.

In lieu of flowers and gifts, the family request that memorials be made to the Caleb Griffis Memorial Scholarship Fund at any United Community Bank branch.
