Jan Elaine (Kelley) Wilson, 58, of Cumming gained her heavenly angel wings unexpected on August 22, 2021. An employee of the Forsyth County School System since 1989 with her career beginning as a school bus driver where she was affectionally known by her students as Mrs. Jan. She took pride in getting to know her kids and being a “second” mom to so many of them. She has spent the last several years serving as the District Supervisor for the Vickey Creek and West High areas. Jan loved her job and spent 32 years doing everything she could to brighten the day of each and every child she came in contact with. In addition to her love of driving a bus, Jan loved her grandchildren who referred to her as simply “Nana.” She absolutely adored them and enjoyed watching them compete in various sports.
Jan was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Carlton Wilson. Her parents Travis and Ruby (McDaniel) Kelley. Her mother-in-law and father-in-law Jessie and Frances (Silvers) Wilson, and her brother-in-law Jessie Wilson, Jr.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Brittany and Kevin Bearden of Dawsonville. Her son Travis Wilson of Cumming. Her beloved grandchildren CJ and Emma Bearden of Dawsonville. Her sister and brother-in-law Dawn (Kelley) and Ward Duncan of Cumming. Her brother-in-law Ronnie Wilson of Waleska and her sister-in-law and brother-on-law Debbie (Wilson) and David Clark of Cumming. She is also survived by her favorite Aunt Margie (McDaniel) Kelley. There are numerous nieces, nephews, and other friends and relatives that survive her.
Funeral services will be held Friday, August 27, at 11:00a.m. and the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Sam Rickett and Rev. Bobby Pirkle officiating. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday and Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
