Peggy D. Williams

Mrs. Peggy D. Williams, age 84, of Pensacola, FL died Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Sacred Heart Hospital, Pensacola, FL.  Mrs. Williams was born in Thomasville, NC to the late James Earl and Violet Eddinger Landreth.  She was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church and was retired librarian with Madison County School System.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her husband, Garnett Carnell (D.D.) Williams; infant sons, Rodrick James Carithers and Roger Wayne Carithers; step-children, Vickie Saddler and Tim Williams; siblings, Bobby Joe Landreth and James Landreth; and granddaughter, Audra Beth Carithers.

Mrs. Williams is survived by her son, Greg Carithers (Caroline) of Pensacola, FL; daughter, Sandy Venable (Barry) of Hull, GA; step-children, Therese Wilson (Keith) of Athens, GA, Tracy Saxton (Faron) of Commerce, GA, Tedd Williams (Shelly) of Nicholson, GA and Terrie Boswell (Mark) of Commerce, GA; grandchildren, Jason Carithers of Thomasville, NC, Andy Brinkley (Barbie) of Thomasville, NC, Izabella Carithers of Pensacola, FL, Peyton Carithers of Watkinsville, GA, Greyson Carithers of Pensacola, FL, Zak Venable (Kaity) of Commerce, GA, Tate Venable of Hull, GA, Jake Venable of Hull, GA, Dylan Wilson, Julia Mills of Athens, GA, Michael Williams (Adrianna) of Commerce, GA, Josh Williams of Commerce, GA, Zach Saxton of Commerce, GA, Ashleigh Parnell (Jason) of Watkinsville, GA, Morgan Varnum (Jeremy) of Commerce, GA, Maddie Bryant of Athens, GA, Taylor Boswell (Sydney) of Dahlonega, GA, Brooke Boswell of Jefferson, GA and Abbe Boswell of Winder, GA; and 23 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 12 noon, Thursday, August 26 at the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home with Rev. Barry Bray officiating.  Interment will follow in Howington Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday night from 6 to 8 PM.
