Mr. Charlie Robert “Bobby” Holland, Sr., age 83 of Rocky Mount Lane, Lakemont passed away Saturday, August 21, 2021 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
A son of the late Charlie Max Holland and Myrtle Elizabeth Newberry Holland, he was born February 16, 1938 in Hall County, Georgia where he lived a greater part of his life. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, stationed in Korea. After returning home from Korea, he started his own greenhouse business in Toccoa. He moved to Gainesville, Georgia in the late 60’s where he started Holland Wholesale Florist. He went on to become a master gardener and went into business with his son to start a landscaping business. He finished his business career by buying and selling precious metals and then retired to Habersham County, Georgia. He was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Lee Holland and by his long time companion, Billie Jean Beck.
Survivors include his five children: Bobby Holland (Cyndy) of Lakemont, Georgia, Anne-Marie Allen (James) of Gainesville, Georgia, Mitchell Holland of Salem, South Carolina, Julie Ford (Jim) of Sumrall, Mississippi, and Justin Holland (Beverley) of Dahlonega, Georgia; eight grandchildren; nephew, Randy Holland and niece, Renee Watts.
Graveside services will be Wednesday, August 25, 2021, 2 O’clock at the Stephens Memorial Gardens with The Reverend Kevin Mangum officiating. Sons and Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Tuesday, 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.acree-davisfh.com.
Interment will follow in the Stephens Memorial Gardens with Military Honors by the VFW Post 7720 of Habersham County.
