Elizabeth Buffington

Elizabeth Buffington, age 94, of Gillsville entered heaven Friday August 20, 2021 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center, Gainesville. 

Elizabeth was born in Bessemer, Alabama on January 21, 1927 to the late Lucuis Charles & Eva Neyman Wesson. She was a hairdresser and a member of the Lebanon United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carlton Buffington & grandson, Brandon Griffin. 

Survivors include, children & spouses, Judy & Donald Baker, Ray & Carol Buffington, Larry & Diane Buffington, Jenny & Terry Gillespie, Randy & Tammy Buffington & Tony & Kim Buffington; 14 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren & 4 great great grandchildren; special caregiver, Kelly Jackson; a number of nieces and nephews also survive. 

Funeral services honoring Elizabeth will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday August 22, 2021 at the Lebanon United Methodist Church with Rev. Larry Buffington, Rev. Jason Buffington, Rev Chad Buffington & Rev. Phillip Gillespie officiating. She will be buried beside her husband in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4p.m. & 6-8p.m. Saturday August 21, 2021 at the funeral home. 

Due to the spike in covid cases masks are not required but strongly recommended along with normal social distancing for everyone’s safety.
