Mr. William "Bill" Hoyt Hurley, age 84, of South Carolina, formerly of Murrayville passed away June 18, 2021.
Bill was born August 10, 1936, in Murrayville, to the late Hoyt Parks Hurley and Idell Underwood Hurley. He graduated from Lyman Hall High School in 1953 and continued his studies at the University of North Georgia.
Bill worked in the textile industry for over 40 years. He started off dyeing and finishing fabric and worked his way up to plant manager and went on to selling textile chemicals. His last occupation was being a consultant at McComb Mills located in McComb, Mississippi. He was a member of Old St. George Baptist Church.
Anyone who knew Bill knew he loved his Georgia Bull Dawgs, playing golf, traveling, and above all he loved the Lord.
Surviving is his wife, Susan S. Hurley; daughters, Nanette (Keith) Price, Jessica (Alex) Brown, and Sarah Barnhill (Derrick Ferguson); son, William (Wanda) Hurley, grandchildren, Brad (Natalie), Miranda, Emily, Adel, Cooper, Kortnee, Mackenzie, Austin, Marvin, Skyler, and Julia; great-grandchild, Nolan; and sisters, Judy Buzo (Richard), and Faye Hurley
Graveside services are scheduled for 11:00 AM Saturday, August 21, 2021, at Yellow Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Robert Nix will officiate.
