David Hegwood

Mr. David Hegwood aka “Uncle Porkey”, 62, of Cornelia, passed away Saturday, August 14, 2021 at his residence.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Mr. Johnny Bryant will officiate. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Monday, August 16, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Born on April 17, 1959 in Gainesville, GA, he was the son of the late William Hegwood and Elizabeth Hill Hegwood. He attended New Haven Church and for 43 years, he was a cook at Waffle House.

Mr. Hegwood is survived by his brother, Donovan Hegwood of Winder; Ashley Johnson of Cornelia; son, Tim Moon of Gainesville and many other family members.
